King David had and immense desire to build a house to the Lord and to do so had been prepared (1Chr. 28:2). However, The Lord would not let him because he was a man of war (V. 3). I guess it was not an easy time, but God tells him that his son Solomon would build His house (V. 6). King David then shared with the future king three things: he gives him the model of the temple, the more expensive materials for utensils and encouragement and instructions on how to get help for the building of it.
With respect to the planes of the temple, here you could fine the design, the courts with their outdoor rooms, the work of the priests and Levites and the items that should be used for decoration.
